Fair Use Policy – Alarm & Monitoring Services
What is in these terms?
When we price our services, we have to do so based upon what we expect to be a reasonable level of use of our Alarm and Monitoring Services.
This fair use policy sets out the usage standards that apply when you use our Alarm and Monitoring Services. A small number of customers are responsible for generating large volumes of activations which can impact the service we offer to our other customers. Our fair usage policy is designed to ensure that all of our customers receive a fast and reliable service.
By using our Alarm and Monitoring Services you accept these terms
By using our Alarm and Monitoring Services, you confirm that you accept the terms of this policy and that you agree to comply with them.
If you do not abide by these terms, we will be entitled to increase the charges payable by you in respect of the Alarm and Monitoring Services in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
Enforcement of the terms of this policy is at our sole discretion.
We may make changes to the terms of this policy
We may amend this policy from time to time; please check this policy regularly to ensure you understand the provisions that apply at that time.
Fair Use
The following are instances of what we would deem to be ‘fair use’ of the Alarm and Monitoring Services for our average customers. An ‘activation’ is a triggering of the alarm or any additional equipment we may monitor:
- Approximately 10 or fewer activations in any given month.
The following are instances of what we would deem to be ‘excessive use’ of the Alarm and Monitoring Services:
- 50 or more activations in any one-month period.
If your use of the Alarm and Monitoring Services exceeds the above limits of this Fair Use Policy in any calendar month, we:
a. will notify you of this and endeavour to work with you to provide the assistance you need; and
b. reserve the right to charge you the amount of:
I. £10 in respect of that month in which between 50 and 99 activations are made.
II. £20 in respect of that month in which over 99 activations are made.
This is to reflect the increase in charges incurred by us as a result of the excessive use, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
