In 2019, The Telegraph reported that one in four over-65s are now using their smartphones to play video games. 5. Social Media
Social media has taken the world by storm. It's especially popular among the younger generation, but older people are diving in too. This phenomenon has also become one of the most popular activities on our list of hobby ideas. According to Ofcom, 73% of people aged 55-64 had a social media profile in 2020/21. For the over-65s, that figure is 59%. In the most recent report, this number has increased to 71% of over-65s.
