The elderly, frail and disabled are most at risk from falls. In fact, according to the NHS, around one in three adults over 65 who live at home will have at least one fall a year. The Lifeline Vi Alarm unit can help those who are at risk, both before and after a potential fall.
By having a personal alarm you can continue living in the comfort of your own home, without having to worry about what could happen if you were to have an accident. Being able to confidently live at home means that there's no need to move into care.
Not only that, but our service will also provide your family with the peace of mind that you have somebody to call for help. This article will focus primarily on the Lifeline Vi Alarm unit, which comes alongside the MyAmie Pendant in our personal alarm service.
The green button is the cancel button, just press this if you have pressed the red button by mistake. The yellow button is the home/away button. This can be pressed if you're going to be away from your home for a long period of time.
The Lifeline Vi Alarm also features a loudspeaker and microphone. This is to allow communication between yourself and the Care Team, either in an emergency or during one of your monthly test calls. The loudspeaker is very loud so that you can still hear the Care Team even if you're not in the same room as the alarm unit.
Another useful feature of the Lifeline Vi Alarm is its back-up silagra battery. This 'support' battery will fire-up if your home suffers from a power cut. The battery has a 40-hour charge and will automatically recharge itself once power has been restored to your home. This feature ensures that you can still call for help during a power cut, where falls can be common due to poor lighting.

How does it work?
The Lifeline Vi Alarm unit is connected to the sleek and stylish MyAmie Pendant, which can be worn around your wrist or around your neck. Once the system has been installed and tested, you will be covered by our highly skilled, expert Care Team. The Care Team work 24/7, 365 days a year to ensure that you always have somebody to call for help in an emergency. Should you feel unwell or suffer a fall, you simply need to press the red button on your pendant or base unit. This sends an alert through to the Care Team, who will respond immediately via the loudspeaker. Your situation is assessed and the appropriate action is taken. This commonly involves the Care Team calling for your emergency contacts, which are selected during the set-up process. This usually includes family members, neighbours and close friends. If you need medical help, the Care Team will also contact the emergency services on your behalf. Any medical information will also be passed on to the paramedics so that they are in the best possible position to help you once they arrive. Having a personal alarm in your home can make a lot of difference, not only in an emergency but also to your everyday life. The knowledge that somebody is there to help, day or night, can give you a well-needed confidence boost.
